Painting Kitchen Cabinets - Professional Painting Tips

.

SURFACE CONSIDERATIONS

When painting kitchen cabinets, you should also consider the surface of the existing cabinet. Is it currently raw wood, stained cabinet, waxed, MDF (micro density fiberboard), laminate or thermo foil? The first step is determined by the surface. Please see the surfaces section before choosing and beginning a finish by clicking here: Surface Considerations.

PAINT CONSIDERATIONS

If you are painting kitchen cabinets, I would recommend either using the custom combinations here made with Faux Effects Products. I also have some finishes suggested here with Sherwin Williams, Modern Masters or Benjamin Moore paints.

A Word about Faux Effects Products: - Manufactured by Faux Effects International Inc., the recognized industry leader in faux and decorative finishes, Faux Effects® products are a complete line of water based products from primers to topcoats engineered to work with ordinary latex paints. These advanced technology products provide consistently slower drying times, allowing maximum workability. And their water based formulation ensures easy cleanup and environmental friendliness

These high end products are designed with painting with furniture quality in mind. My top five reasons for using Faux Effects Products:

1-The paint products set up and lay out beautifully on all surfaces, in many cases reducing the need for primers, saving time, money and product.

2- They can be brushed, rolled and sprayed on with the best results.

3- They mix perfectly with latex paints and are WATER-BASED, which means they are good for the environment and safe for the people in the homes and offices where they are used.

4- The colors and combinations are endless and beautiful.

5- I have spent a great deal of time in training classes and education as a silver product distributor and know them very well. I have used these products in hundreds of homes and know the quality they have provided for my clients. I feel comfortable recommending them.
